I discovered the joy and fustration that is Resident Evil when RE4 came out for the PS2. Unlike most
RE fans, I actually like the Resident Evil movies (I think, mainly because I saw them before I played the
game.)
A Conflict of Interests

Summary: Six years is a long time to be without someone you love. But is it better to believe
they're dead, or to make the most of the precious few minutes you have left together?
A nice post-game fic that flirts with UST and leaves you wanting more.
Another Time Leaving

Summary: Ada Wong may as well be her real name. It's what he calls her, and he makes her feel real.
One of the first Leon/Ada fics I read and fell in love with. A lovely look into Ada's head on why
her relationship with Leon shouldn't work and why it does.
Ashley Sticks With the Merchant

Summary: Selling something to Ashley is harder than he thought, but at least he isn't lonely.
There was many a time during the game when I wished I could've left Ashley with the Merchant.
Hilarious set of one-sentence bits that also form a larger narrative.
Bittersweet
PG | Alice/Carlos | Movie-verse
Summary: She was perpetually aware of the too-sweet scent of almonds, though perhaps 'scent' was
the wrong word. It was a taste as well, and she did not need to breathe to be aware of it. The scent of
infection.
A heartbreaking look at Alice and Carlos before and during Extinction. It also offers a possible
fate for Jill and Angie that's just as sad.
Empty

Summary: Ada's thoughts as she prepares to complete her mission, no matter what the cost.
A great look at the effect her interaction with Leon has on Ada. I love how the last line just
stands out from the rest of the fic.
In This Together
PG-13 | Leon, Ashley, Merchant | RE4
Summary: Leon realizes he needs a bigger and better gun while protecting Ashley. Who can he turn to?
I love these three characters and this fic hilariously illustrates a lot of what was going
through my head when I played the game. (Although, I was totally willing to risk Ashley's safety by being
a cheapskate. I loved my freebie weapons!)
Nevermore, Never Say
PG | Alice, Carlos, Jill | Movie-verse
Summary: In her memory, Jill's hair is always straighter and Carlos' smile is brighter, but as the
crow flaps its dirty wings Alice remembers the way Jill's hair would knot and stick to her brow as they
ran, clearing a path of gunfire through the undead.
This fics shows you what could have been between the events of Apocalypse and Extinction. The
relationship between the three is beautiful and so it's heartbreaking when it all falls apart.
Partners to the End
PG-13 | Leon, Ada | RE4
Summary: Ada x Leon, their relationship prompted by a single word.
I love how the format of the fic offers you snippets about their relationship that ranges from
funny to touching. I have to disagree with #49 though -- using a bow gun on Krauser is suicidal.
What Waits Behind the Silence
PG-13 | Leon | RE4
Summary: '...and he was suddenly aware of the surroundings that had once been utter and complete
silence...'
A fantastic mood piece that gives us a little look into Leon's frame of mind and captures a part
of the game that reminds you that it's called surivial horror for a reason.
Yea, Though I Run
PG-13 | Leon, Ashley | RE4
Summary: Everybody has something that comforts them. Ashley Graham mumbles as she runs, breathless
and afraid. All the while, Leon listens.
A great look at the journey Leon and Ashley take during the game and psychological toll it takes
on Leon. I love the subtle inclusion of how faith keeps Ashley going.
