Unlike most fans, I sort of prefer to pretend Serenity (the movie) never happened.
A Million Light Years from Home

Crossover with 'Harry Potter' which I didn't think could work, but does. I can't say if Sirius is
100% in character, but the Firefly crew is and while I understand why the author chose the ending she did,
I found myself wanting the other possible ending (and after you read the fic, you'll know why).

River does the math on Mal. A great look at Mal from River's POV. I love this look at how River
perceives things and the slightly suprising pairing in the fic (which I personally like, it's just I
don't see it in fic very often).

Jayne writes home. Funny and slightly creepy at the end. I'm in the "Jayne has a crush on Kaylee"
camp, so it's nice to see others feel that way as well.

A sort of pre/missing-scene fic in which we find out how Simon came to choose to board Serenity.
My only quibble is the way the pinyin is written (with numbers rather than tone marks, so it pulls me out
of the fic slightly).

River's POV of the two women in Simon's life. Slight shades of CSI (Crazy Space Incest, which I'm
not particularly crazy for) but I still love it.

A nice Simon/Kaylee moment. Something I could definitely picture happening in the series, though
if it were an episode moment, I'm sure Simon would've insulted Kaylee halfway through the scene.

Sort of missing-scene fic for 'Shindig'. While I love Simon/Kaylee, my favorite moment is Mal's
outburst -- "Kaylee! You'd best be dyin' or you're gorram sure about t'be!"
Waltz

In the commentary for 'Shindig' it was mentioned that Kaylee dancing with Simon in one of the last
scenes of the episode was scripted, but was never filmed. This fic almost makes up for that.
